Mercedes to recall 1 million cars globally due to faulty breaks

Mercedes-Benz Group will recall almost a million vehicles globally due to a potential braking system fault, according to Agence France-Presse, citing the German federal transport authority.

According to AFP, the impacted vehicles were constructed between 2004 and 2015 and belong to the ML and GL sports utility vehicle series, as well as the R-Class luxury minivan.

Mercedes acknowledged the recall in a statement to AFP, adding that in "rare circumstances" of very extensive corrosion, a "particularly powerful or harsh" braking technique might cause mechanical damage to the vehicles' brake booster.

According to AFP, more than 993,000 automobiles were recalled globally, including 70,000 of them in Germany.
