BMW And Tata Technologies Partners To Develop EV Software

German automaker BMW has revealed a collaboration with Indian company Tata Technologies to establish a development center dedicated to electric vehicle software.

While BMW has similar facilities in other countries, the significance of this partnership lies in tapping into India's abundant software engineering talent pool.

Christoph Grote, BMW’s Senior Vice President of Software and E/E Architecture, expressed that this collaboration will expedite their advancements in software-defined vehicles. It provides Indian engineers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge automotive experiences, including highly automated driving and artificial intelligence.

This collaboration not only benefits BMW but also boosts the Indian tech industry. The joint venture initially involves 100 professionals from Tata Technologies, with plans to expand to over a thousand engineers in the coming years.

The focus will be on automating in-vehicle functions and various aspects of product development, production, and sales. With BMW intensifying its software endeavors, this partnership promises to enhance the future of its electric vehicles.
