Hyundai Nigeria Limited has introduced the new Santa Fe SUV as well as the Elantra saloon to the Nigerian market.
Mr Gaurav Vashisht, the company's head of sales and marketing, addressed newsmen at a media launch held recently at the Hyundai showroom in Victoria Island, Lagos, and described the new Santa Fe as the result of continuous research into making Hyundai vehicles safer and more comfortable for customers.

Mr Vashisht added that the two cars had enhanced style, comfort, equipment, and segment-leading safety features when compared to the versions they replaced.
According to him, the new Santa Fe has enough seats for a family of seven and has taken the elegantly designed, high-tech SUV to the next level, resulting in a major increase in crash safety and optimising vehicle stability on top of more internal room.
Explaining further, on the features of the new SUV, Mr Vashisht said, “Hyundai Santa Fe has made a brilliant start to the new year, gaining wide recognition by top tier global automotive awards, winning top titles in Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Award, Large SUV of the Year at 2022 What Car? Award, and U.S. News 2022 Best Car for the Money, affirming the Santa Fe as an innovative choice among large SUVs in combining family convenience with adventurous unrivalled presence on the road.”
The Santa Fe has been rated as the greatest car for the money, and it has been effective in combining quality and value criteria as a contemporary day SUV. The New Santa Fe, which will be available in 2022 with a refreshed exterior and interior design, has also gained an array of novelty features and an enhanced dynamic driving experience, providing the balance of optimal performance and comfort, giving the driver the choice of driving modes that suit every road or driving situation, and ensuring an unparalleled ride experience for both the driver and the various family members.
Mr Vashisht commented further, "This widespread recognition of Hyundai's Santa Fe in the eyes of automotive experts and enthusiasts is a strong indication of the added value that the SUV is bringing to the market, having proven for many years now to be Hyundai's potent class-leading contender in the large SUV segment around the world."
Similarly, the all-new 7th generation Hyundai Elantra has undergone considerable improvements, giving the most advanced in-vehicle experience in its class.
The 2022 Elantra is longer, broader, and more aggressive than the sixth-generation model, and it comes with a slew of new technology and amenities. It's another step forward for the Elantra brand, which debuted on the market 30 years ago.
"Across the previous three decades, the Elantra has continued to progress over its generations," Vashisht said, "with each of the six editions signifying a substantial step forward in design, aesthetics, and technology."
According to him, the seventh generation Elantra is no exception, and it raises the standard in its class.
“Like other models on sale across the country, the two newly launched SUV and Sedan, also benefit from the over 30 years of nationwide aftersales network facilities of Stallion Group. And because they are locally assembled, they are vehicles you can drive with peace of mind in the country, they are tropicalised”, Vashisht added.
The 2017 Elantra is powered by a fuel-efficient Smartstream G2.0 MPI – 6-speed automatic engine with a top power of 159ps/6,200rpm and a top torque of 19.5kg.m/4,500rpm.
The Elantra has luxury finishing on both the exterior and inside, which is represented in Hyundai's 'Sensuous Sportiness' design identity.
The car also includes an elaborative design chassis, which allows the driver to feel the dynamic sensation of the design.
"At the front, a broad cascade grille coupled to the headlights and a bold bumper offer a more muscular front appearance."
"The parametric-pattern cascade grille over the front mask produces a futuristic design, while the sharp edge shaped bumper bottom moulding and air curtain intakes are also key characteristics." The new model "boasts essential elements like as a larger hood, beautiful roofline, and side character-line with sharp edges that highlights a dynamic appeal," according to the automaker.
