The Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica 2023 Makes Its Debut At The New York Auto Show

At the ongoing New York Motor Show, Lamborghini debuted the Huracan Tecnica, a road-legal supercar and track weapon. The latest Lambo foregoes the AWD system in favor of a RWD setup.

Despite being based on the entry-level rear-drive Evo, the Tecnica includes a slew of features normally reserved for more expensive Huracans. Instead of the 602 hp (610 PS), 413 lb-ft (560 Nm) naturally aspirated V10 found in the base model, the Tecnica gets the 631 hp (640 PS), 417 lb-ft (565 Nm) version found in the STO, which the company claims now has an enhanced, sharper sound at high revs.

The Huracan Tecnica accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 202 mph when equipped with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

This new Huracan weighs only 1,379 kg (3,040 lbs) and comes standard with the LDVI system (Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata), rear-wheel steering with direct steering ratio and torque vectoring, a modified P-TCS system, and a bespoke suspension setup.

The exterior of the Tecnica is designed to set it apart from the rest of the lineup. Its revised design is intended to be more aerodynamically efficient while maximizing lightweight engineering features such as a full carbon fiber hood. It visually bridges the gap between its road-riding stablemates and its track-tacular STO counterpart.

A new fascia incorporates an air curtain, which is a first for the Huracan. Lower slats from a new front splitter direct air through the wheels, increasing cooling and downforce.

Inside, it's just as special. With height-adjustable seats, you don't have to be a racing driver to find a comfortable position. The digital interface has been completely redesigned for this vehicle, with fewer colors for the instrument panel and improved readability in a large new arc in front of the driver. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa are among the infotainment options, and the STO is the inspiration for connected telemetry and track times that can be recorded via the Unica app.
