'You were elected to avoid less drama' - Elon Musk fires at US President Joe Biden

Tesla CEO Elon Musk made an unusual remark on US President Joe Biden on Friday, just two days after suggesting he would lift Twitter's ban on Biden's predecessor, Donald Trump. Elon Musk shared his thoughts on why he believes Biden got elected:

“Biden’s mistake is that he thinks he was elected to transform the country, but actually everyone just wanted less drama.”

“Even though I think a less divisive candidate would be better in 2024, I still think Trump should be restored to Twitter. (sic)” he remarked in another post.

Trump's Twitter account was permanently disabled soon after the riot at the US Capitol last year, citing "the risk of further incitement of violence."

The move boosted his influence among individuals on the political right, according to Musk, who called the ban "morally wrong and flat-out stupid."

"Permanent bans should be extremely rare and really reserved for accounts that are bots, or scam, spam accounts...," Musk said. "I do think that it was not correct to ban Donald Trump. I think that was a mistake because it alienated a large part of the country, and it did not ultimately result in Donald Trump not having a voice."

Trump has previously stated in an interview that he will not return to Twitter even if Musk owns the company and reinstates his account, and that he will instead utilize his own social networking program called Truth Social.
