Ford recalls over 737,000 cars due to oil leaks and brake systems

Ford is recalling over 737,000 cars to replace oil leaks and trailer brake systems that aren't working.

The oil leak recall affects the Ford Escape SUV from 2020 to 2022, as well as the Bronco Sport SUV from 2021 to 2022 with 1.5-liter engines. A housing might split and oil can flow onto engine parts, posing a fire risk.

If necessary, dealers will replace the housing. Beginning April 18, owners will be contacted.

The trailer braking recall affects 2021 and 2022 F-150 trucks, as well as the 2022 F-250, 350, 450, and 550. The 2022 Maverick truck, as well as the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs, are also covered.

A software glitch can prevent trailers from braking, increasing the likelihood of a collision.

Brake control software will be updated by dealers. Beginning April 18, owners will be contacted.
