Tesla intends to turn its Shanghai Factory to become the world's largest automobile export hub

According to fresh claims, Tesla intends to grow its Shanghai operations to become the world's largest automobile export center.

On Wednesday morning, Chinese media outlets announced that the EV manufacturer will establish a new plant near its Shanghai operations. The objective is to produce 450,000 more Model 3 and Model Y electric vehicles each year.

Tesla now has a daily production capacity of roughly 2,000 vehicles. It is presently earning around a third of this amount after obtaining approval to allow employees to return in a "closed-loop" arrangement working one shift each day.

According to sources, Tesla wrote a thank you note to the local Shanghai officials in Lingang Special Area for their support in relocating over 6,000 employees and suppliers, while also revealing its plans for the new facility.

“They fought for three consecutive days, working round the clock and non-stop to guarantee our company’s workers could return to the factory,” Tesla said in the letter according to reports.
