Ford has announced through Twitter that an all-new Mustang will be unveiled in September at the Detroit Auto Show.
Only a teaser trailer has been released so far ahead of its autumn premiere, but here's everything we know so far.
Previous spy pictures from various sources appear to indicate that the Mustang will look quite similar to the current generation - it will still be low and sleek, with the unique shape benefiting from mild design evolutions less than any revolutionary alterations.
Despite its increased electrification intentions, the teaser film suggests that the Mustang will still be offered with a combustion engine.

We don't know if this is an improved version of the 5.0-litre V8, but the presence of a six-speed manual gear sequence implies that petrol power will continue. The audio is also rather provocative.
We expect the new Mustang to go on sale in 2023, after a complete reveal in the autumn.
