2024 Dodge Charger Electrified: World's Most Powerful Muscle Car Debuts in Two Trims

Dodge rewrote the muscle car rulebook this week with the global debut of the all-new 2024 Dodge Charger. But this isn't your grandpa's muscle car. This one packs a punch without the fumes – it's the world's first electric muscle car, and it's not messing around.

Dodge boasts that the Charger EV lineup will be the quickest and most powerful of its kind. It comes in two flavors and two body styles (coupe and the soon-to-come four-door).

The top dog is the 670-horsepower Charger Daytona Scat Pack. Buckle up – this beast rockets from 0-60 mph in a mind-blowing 3.3 seconds and devours the quarter-mile in 11.5 seconds. Need a little less power? The Daytona R/T offers a still-impressive 496 horsepower and 404 lb-ft of torque, launching you to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds with a 137 mph top speed (the Scat Pack is electronically limited to 134 mph).

Both electric Chargers utilize a 400-volt propulsion system, delivering the thrilling performance you expect from a muscle car, but with a clean conscience – there are zero tailpipe emissions here.

The 100.5 kWh battery pack offers an impressive range. The Daytona R/T boasts a range of 317 miles, while the high-performance Scat Pack delivers 260 miles on a single charge.

But wait, there's more! The 2024 Charger lineup isn't all electric. Dodge is also offering two electrified options, including the monstrous 550-horsepower Charger SIXPACK H.O., fueled by a 3.0L Twin Turbo Hurricane High Output engine.

Production for the 2-door electric Daytona models kicks off mid-2024, with their 4-door electric siblings following in Q1 2025. Gas-powered SIXPACK models (both two-door and four-door) will also hit the assembly line in Q1 2025 at the Windsor, Ontario plant.
